It all started in a small apartment, with a curious kitten named Mika and a baby on the way.

As cat lovers, we loved Mika’s cuddles, her playful nighttime behavior, and her dramatic meows asking for breakfast at 5 a.m. But her litter? Not so much...

Living in a small space made everything worse: the strong smell, the dust, the mess. We were always stepping on clay litter granules (often barefoot!), finding them in the corners... and even in the fridge. With a newborn on the way, we knew this couldn’t continue. We wanted to avoid chemicals in the litter — we didn’t want anything that could harm our baby or Mika.

We started looking for a better litter — cleaner, safer, more natural.
And then, we had a revelation.

At first, we just wanted something less messy. But as we looked more closely, we learned a shocking truth: clay litter — sold everywhere — is actually terrible for the environment.
It’s strip-mined from the earth (like coal), never breaks down, and ends up in landfills by the millions of tons every year. All that, for a product that barely covers odors and spreads dust everywhere? No thanks.

That was our turning point.
After trying all the “eco-friendly” options out there (some smelled like hay, others like pure frustration), we finally found tofu litter. It’s natural, almost dust-free, biodegradable, easy to scoop — and works incredibly well. Mika loved it. So did we.

And that’s how Naturycat was born: a litter made with love for cats, care for homes, and respect for the planet.
